West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state level common entrance test which is organized by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. It is organized to examine candidates for admissions in undergraduate engineering, architecture & pharmacy programs which are offered by various colleges and universities of West Bengal. With the help of this exam, students will get eligible for admissions in Government Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the state of West Bengal.
Important Dates-
- Information brochure will be published online in last week of December, 2016
- Registration of Online application will initiate in the first week of January, 2017
- Last date of application submission falls in the month of February, 2017
- Last date to update document is in first week of March, 2017
- Last date to make the payment of the fee is in second week of March, 2017
- Last date to print the confirmation page is in last week of March, 2017
- Correction window will be opening in second week of March, 2017
- Admit card will be made available for the purpose of download in first week of April, 2017
- Exam will occur in the month of May, 2017
- Result will be declared in the month of June, 2017
Eligibility Criteria-
Domicile Eligibility-
Candidates are required to be Indian Citizens
Candidates should be living in West Bengal to be eligible to apply for the exam
Candidates from outside West Bengal can only apply for the engineering courses
Age limit-
Candidates are required to be minimum of 17 years in age as on 31st December of the year of admission and there is age bar for the maximum age
Academic Eligibility-
Candidates should have passed 12th class from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects to be eligible for Engineering and Technology Courses
Candidates should have passed 12th class form a recognized board with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as compulsory subjects to be eligible for the various Architecture courses.
Application Form-
The application form for the WBJEE entrance test will be available online only. Registration starts in the month of January, 2017 and last date to apply for the application form falls in February, 2017
It is mandatory for the candidates to upload the required documents
It is compulsory for the candidates to keep the printout of confirmation page for future use
Application Fee-
The application fee payment can be made through online and offline modes
Candidates can pay the fees with the help of credit card or debit card or through the challan of Allahabad Bank
The application fee is as-
- For type E the fee is Rs.600 plus bank charges
- For type C the fee is Rs.500 plus bank charges
Documents required to be uploaded-
- Latest colored passport size photograph of the candidate
- Signature of the candidate
- Left hand thumb impression of the candidate
- Registration certificate or 10th class passing certificate of the Candidate
- Domicile Certificate of the Candidate
- Category Certificate of the Candidate
