Air Force Common Admission Test by Indian Air Force

Indian Air Force will organize Air Force Common Admission Test which is popularly known as AFCAT, which is held twice every year. As the name gives the idea that this test is conducted for and by Indian Air Force. The purpose of conducted this test is to recruit officers who can be both men and women for three branches and also their sub-branches of Air Force which are named as Flying, Technical and Ground Duty.
Important Dates

  • Notification and Important Exam Date of 1st Entrance Exam
  • Official Notification of the entrance exam was declared in the month of 3 December 2016
  • Last Date to Apply is December 29, 2016
  • Exam will held on February 26 2017
  • Result will be expected to be declared in the month of March, 2017

Eligibility Criteria-
Exam Age Limit
For Flying Branch the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 24 years as on 01 January, 2018 i.e. the candidate should be born in between 02 January, 1995 to 01 January, 1998 and both the dates are inclusive. Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and Current Commercial Pilot License which is issued by DGCA of India is relaxed up to 26 years that is who is born in between 02 January, 1992 to 01 January, 1998 and both the dates are inclusive.
For Technical Branch the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 26 years as on 01 January, 2018 that is candidate should be born in between 02 January, 1992 to 01 January, 1998 and both the dates are inclusive.
For GDOC the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 26 years as on 01 January, 2018 that is candidate should have born in between 02 January, 1992 to 01 January, 1998 and both the dates are inclusive.
How to Apply-
The candidates can apply for the application through online mode only, from the career website of Indian Air Force which is www.careerairforce.nic.in
Candidates can apply for the various posts according to their age and educational qualification for the post of commissioned officers in the Flying, Ground Duty and Technical Branches of Indian Air Force
Minimum Educational Qualification depends on the different posts but the minimum qualification is considered to be Graduation
Age of the candidates should be at least of 20 years and the upper limit varies for different branches as the case may be
Exam Pattern-
Entrance exam consists of 100 questions. Duration of exam is 2 hours. Technical Branch candidates have an additional test of EKT both the tests are objective. The candidates who gets successful gets a chance to appear for AFSB and called for training based on their rank list and subject to medical fitness as well.

  1. Basic Mathematics
  2. English
  3. Science
  4. Geography
  5. History
  6. Current Affairs
  7. Reasoning
  8. EKT comprises of Basic Engineering.
